Finance 101, presented by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation, is a series of three free workshops facilitated by local financial and legal experts and designed to provide information on financial planning for the long-term. Experts will discuss tax planning; trust and estate planning; and special needs planning. A brief Q&A will follow each presentation.
Join local Walnut Creek accountant, Ward Pynn, as he provides advice and guidance regarding your tax liability for the remainder of 2022. Pynn will discuss your options including opportunities with taxable income; adjusting investments to include tax exempt income and real estate investment trusts (REIT); maximizing deductions; consideration of section 1031 exchanges for real estate; and capital losses. Personal budgeting and discretionary expenses will also be covered.
Ward Pynn is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and began his tax career at the national office of the IRS in Washington, D.C. After returning to California, Pynn was employed at a Big 8 accounting firm before joining a local Walnut Creek CPA firm. Pynn specializes in individuals, trusts and tax-exempt organizations and has presented seminars on many tax subjects.
